This cinematic post-rock band released their first full-length called <strong>Chasm <\/strong>and contains 6 great songs. <strong>Chasm <\/strong>is a concept album about a civilization on the brink of extinction. Musically we follow this civilization through their fall, how they struggle, pray, survive disasters and finally end up at their inevitable stranding. <strong>When Waves Collide<\/strong> uses their instrumental cinematic approach in combination with shoegazing post-rock arrangements that are reminiscent of big bands like <strong>Long Distance Calling<\/strong>, <strong>Moments Of Collapse<\/strong>, <strong>PG.Lost<\/strong> and <a href=\"https:\/\/demistrecords.nl\/en\/shop\/?filter_artist=we-lost-the-sea&#038;post_type=product\"><strong>We Lost The Sea<\/strong><\/a>. Like these bands, these French have the ability to create stories with their instruments. Without using words, the surprising arrangements guide you through the story.<br \/>\n<strong>When Waves Collide<\/strong> already released the <strong>EP I<\/strong> and their single <strong>Star Collapse<\/strong> in 2019, which gave us an idea of \u200b\u200bwhat to expect from these French instrumentalists. With <strong>Chasm<\/strong> they have gone even further and you can hear that the band itself has evolved. The music has become more diverse by introducing elements of progressive rock, post-metal, shoegaze and post-rock, while maintaining the ambient soundscapes. The end result is a very well thought out album, with a truly unique sound that propelled the band up the ranks with the release of <strong>Chasm<\/strong>.
